Richard's Bar
Richard's Bar is one of the last true dive bars in Chicago. It's not that we're trying to talk the place up but most places that are referred to as dive bars nowadays are simply bars that aren't clubs. There's a difference between a nice every day bar and a dive bar. Richard's Bar is a dive bar.
Richard's Bar serves a mixture of patrons from old beat up looking men and women who have seen and done it all to hipsters who dress to impress (in vintage clothing of course) and women who happen to be pretty attractive! The sign behind the bar says "No Smoking" but it's incredibly hard to read behind the thick cloud of smoke. That leads us to the main downside. You will smell like smoke upon leaving this bar so make sure that you're dry cleaning whatever you wore because it's just too much sometimes!
