We don't really write about desert in bars very much but we've got to say that Gilhooley's Grand Saloon is the place for you if you like carrot cake. Yes we said it. Gilhooley's Grand Saloon has a killer carrot cake and it's most definitely important enough to the the absolute first thing that we bring to all of our readers' attention. Get. The. Carrot. Cake.
That said, Gilhooley's Grand Saloon also offers real food. They have decent bar or pub fare. Things like Chicken Sandwiches on Pretzel Buns, Lasagna, Beef, Chcken, Salads, etc. If you expect it at a bar then you can expect it at Gilhooley's Grand Saloon. The neat thing is that Gilhooley's Grand Saloon is located very close to Saint Xavier University (SxU) which makes it a college bar through and through.
If you attend Saint Xavier University then you will be interested in this place if you're looking for a bar that is a bit more upscale compared to a lot of the other bars in the area. It's perfect for an affordable date night that doesn't break the bank.
