Bar Ombra
Bar Ombra is located in Andersonville on Clark St. between Berwyn Ave and Summerdale Ave. It's known for having solid service and pretty great drinks. The hours are 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Monday through Thursday and 5:00 PM until 11:00 PM on Friday through Sunday. So in it's short time open, they seem to have quite a decent amount of visitors. The price range on items ranges from around $10.00 to $30.00 or so for the most expensive so we like to think that is reasonably priced.
The casual atmosphere is welcoming. Going to a place like Bar Ombra is a relief and a nice break from the posh feel that a lot of bars and lounges in Chicago give off. Visitors feel as if they can really let loose and be themselves without having to keep up with appearances. The waiters seem to be pretty good. They're very attentive, good with kids, and make sure everything is taken care of before moving to the next table.
The food is enjoyable but not amazing. But honestly, what food is amazing nowadays at this price? The goat cheese truffles are incredible. There are different flavors and they're served with arugula and served with thinly sliced bread. All in all the atmosphere is relaxed, the servers are attentive, and the beer does the job. It's worth if a visit if you have time to kill.
