Edgewater Lounge, Andersonville

Edgewater Lounge was established in 1909 and has been around ever since. There's no wonder why. Edgewater Lounge started as a bar / speakeasy and it's continued the tradition of providing great service to the great people of Chicago ever since. If the walls in this speakeasy could talk then they'd have the ears of everybody in the land. With a rich history running through the prohibition era and beyond, there are surely an unlimited amount of stories in which they could tell.

During prohibition, the bar was located in the top secret back room. It's since been transformed into a dining area, but surely holds the memories and stories of many people in the good ol' days. A refrigeration unit located in the kitchen is still original to the are and has served a countless amount of drinks. The basement was full of gamblers and card players and it's almost impossible to imagine all of the deals that were finalized here. It's lucky that the place never got caught due to it's incredible popularity! If you're in Chicago then this is a must-visit!
