The Gallery Cabaret
No cover? No problem! The Gallery Cabaret is an old school diver bar with plenty of extras. The bar does double as a gallery with a nice collection of artwork that interchanges on a monthly basis. There's also a permanent collection behind the bar. The place is small but they make the best out of a layout. Not sure if the brought in a firm to help with the design but it just makes sense.
The people that come to this place are generally all different types of people.Tons of musicians and starving artist type people. It's also a great place to find locals who are intelligent and just smart enough to know that they'll be able to enjoy some cheap drinks. Hipsters even make an appearance. For the most part everyone is cool and pretty low key.
The Gallery Cabaret is conveniently located just a couple of blocks away from the Blue Line. If you don't feel like taking the blue line, there's also the Milwaukee or Western buses. Also we should note that there are plenty of cabs in the area.
